one of the really 'ON' shows of all time.

I was at this show, my 3rd. Tix were like $8 at the door and we only decided that afternoon to go. I was next to the taper who Bobby told to move back. I noticed no other tapers and in fact this was the 1st guy I ever saw tape a show from the audience. I clearly remember so many points of this show, I can still replay it in my mind. The killer Truckin, Cumberland, and I just about lost it at 3 points when they went from Truckin -> St Stephen, Bobby M -> Hard to Handle, and Other 1 -> M&MU -> Other1. Other 1 psychedelia -> a cowboy song??? F-ing blew me away!
I had seen 3 shows in 8 months, but that was just the beginning of to what was to come.

This show inspired me to make an account and tell the world that this show rocks. What a groove.

it's absolutely sick how good this recording sounds. it's 1971 people! and the playing...well...it's 1971, what did you expect!

This show is amazing, the Hard to Handle is off the charts, I have my headphones at work and Im bouncing off my seat.

I am sure that I am not the only HEAD out there in cyberland that noticed the first notes of Weather Report Suite's Prelude during the jam between The Other One verses? Someone please co-sign my BS, I want to make sure I am not having a break from reality ;)))
Seriously, I thought it was pretty cool, as I do when I find those moments within many of these performances where the boys sow the seeds of future gems.
Great show; amazing energy from the band and the audience and the space in between!!

Can't believe it's taken this long for me to get here. If you are familiar with the Hollywood Palladium, you know it is a pretty small venue. I was in the middle of the dance floor. It was so packed that at times my feet were not on the floor. Yet the energy of the room, the performance and instant high of the whole scene overtook my fear of being crushed. Fell in love and gave my heart to this band. Been a Deadhead since. Though, I must admit when Donna joined I almost wrote them off! Seems funny now when I think of it. Peace.

Thanx Harv, Ben, and SIRMick. This show has been written about plenty, most of it true! What a gem. I adore the Brokedown, despite Jerry's guitar being out of tune a bit. I listened to this loud, even by my standards, my next door neighbor even said i was rocking out. Good thing she's a head too. I must have lost this one or discovered it was wrongly pitched, 'cause I don't know why it was not in my collection, which started in 1982. I am playing Morning Dew on my radio show this week. Peace
